Local moves in Dallas range from $600 for a small studio to $1,800+ for a 3-bedroom with stairs, a piano, and a same-day weekend slot. The number isn't random — four variables drive it almost entirely.
1. Distance + stops
Most local moves are a single origin to a single destination. But every additional stop — a storage unit, a parent's house, a donation center — adds time and routing. Plan stops at the walk-through so the quote reflects reality.
2. Inventory + specialty items
A 2-bedroom with normal furniture is straightforward. A 2-bedroom with a baby grand piano, a 1,200 lb gun safe, and a Peloton is three specialty jobs on top of a 2-bedroom move. Be honest about what you have so we can size the crew.
3. Access
Stairs, narrow alleys, long carries from the curb, elevators with reservation-only loading windows, gated communities with COI requirements — every access challenge adds time. We walk the access at the walk-through.
4. Timing
End-of-month weekends are the most expensive — every mover in Dallas is booked. Mid-month weekdays are the cheapest. Same-day urgent jobs cost more because we're flexing the crew. Plan ahead when you can.
